Privacy Policy

SPLIT ("we", "our", "the app") is a workout tracking application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — email address and optional username, used for authentication and identifying you to friends.
- Workout data — exercises, sets, reps, weights, workout notes, and difficulty ratings you log during training sessions.
- Body measurements — weight, body fat percentage, and tape measurements you optionally enter to track progress.
- Profile photo — an optional avatar image you upload.
- Social data — friend connections, activity feed events, and reactions you create.
- Training preferences — your selected split type, goals, equipment access, and schedule.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Generate personalized workout programs based on your goals and history.
- Track your progress (charts, PRs, measurements) over time.
- Show your activity to accepted friends in the social feed.
- Improve the app experience through aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored in two places:
- Your device — workout sessions, preferences, and measurements are cached locally for offline access.
- Supabase (cloud) — account data, exercise logs, and social features are stored in a secure PostgreSQL database with row-level security. Data is hosted in the United States.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your data is shared only:
- With friends you explicitly accept — they see your workout activity in their feed.
- With Anthropic's Claude API — your training preferences (not personal info) are sent to generate workout programs. This data is not retained by Anthropic for training.
- With Supabase — our database provider, operating under their privacy policy and data processing agreement.

6. Your Rights
You can at any time:
- Access your data — all your workout data is visible in the app.
- Correct your data — edit your username, measurements, and profile in Settings.
- Delete your account and all associated data — use the "Delete account" option in Settings. This permanently removes your data from our servers.
- Export your data — contact us and we will provide a copy of your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be retained indefinitely.
8. Security
We protect your data with:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
- Row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data.
- Secure authentication via Supabase Auth with email verification.
- No storage of passwords — authentication is handled by Supabase's secure auth system.
9. Children's Privacy
SPLIT is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
10. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels. We do not track you across other apps or websites. The app does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework because we perform no tracking.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of SPLIT after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
