Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SPLIT ("the app", "the service"), operated by the SPLIT team ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SPLIT. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• One person may maintain only one account.
• You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
• Upload content that is offensive, obscene, or violates the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or the app's infrastructure.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (workout notes, profile photos, usernames, etc.). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit your content as needed to provide the service (e.g., showing your activity to your accepted friends).

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. There is no tolerance for objectionable content (including harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, or anything unlawful) or for abusive users. You may report objectionable content or block another user at any time from within the app. We review reports and will remove offending content and may suspend or remove the responsible account, typically within 24 hours. By creating content (including choosing a username) you agree to these standards.

5. AI-Generated Workouts

• Workout programs are generated by AI and are suggestions only.
• We are not certified personal trainers or medical professionals.
• You should consult a healthcare provider before starting any exercise program.
• You assume all risk associated with following generated workout plans.
• We are not liable for any injury resulting from exercises performed using the app.

6. Health Disclaimer

SPLIT is a workout logging and programming tool, not a medical device. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Body measurement tracking is for personal reference only. If you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort during exercise, stop immediately and seek medical attention.

7. Service Availability

• We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
• We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
• Offline functionality depends on previously cached data and may have limitations.

8. Intellectual Property

The SPLIT name, logo, design, and code are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content without our written permission.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that harms other users or the service. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it in Settings.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).
• We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, user error, or circumstances beyond our control.

11. Privacy

Your use of SPLIT is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where we operate.
